“My passion is helping people to find the best version of who they are in their careers.  I love HR because I get to utilize my experiences, understanding, and expertise to help shine a light on a path forward. I want to be a resource for people and to provide guidance…it’s truly my passion.

Having been in the human resource profession for over 13 years I have constantly explored various disciplines to broaden my horizon. I have held several positions in tandem with an hr position, from business accounting to safety roles, including building policies and templates for various departments.

My drive is to help shape people and their careers into success. My motto is, “Never stop learning and discovering new things about yourself and others. When we stop doing this, we stop growing. There is always more to learn, see, and grow!”

Theresa has more than 13 years of experience in the human resource field. She has managed Human Resource functions for small and large organizations the oil and gas drilling sector, where she gained knowledge and experience in a variety of human resource and business management roles.

Most recently, she worked as the Senior Human Resources Generalist in employee relations at Concho Resources where she provided internal support to business functions as they related to compliance and employee relations. Prior to joining Concho, Theresa’s areas of expertise include developing policies and procedures, performance management, training and development, employee relations, and HR administration.

Theresa started her career in 2007, where she worked for the J.B. Hunt Gas & Oil Drilling team as the administrative assistant and quickly worked her way up to the Office Manager, where she was responsible for overseeing all facets of the office at the district level, stemming from human resources functions including hiring, onboarding, HR procedures, employee development and payroll, safety management, letter writing, budgeting, and invoicing.

While attending college, she has gained experience over the last decade in building and establishing best practices for all aspects within the human resource function. She refined her skills in areas such as policy and procedure development, performance management, training and development, employee relations, and human resource administration. She also developed strong business partnerships with local vendors who serve as helpful partners.

Theresa has developed expertise in various levels of people operations, but she specializes in employee relations, performance management, and the development of human resource policies and procedures. She also provides employee development training for all levels of management, from first-line managers to CEOs.

When she is not in the office, you can find her studying or spending time with her family.

Theresa graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Management. After attaining her MBA, she has continued her education and is in pursuit of an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. Theresa is also currently taking continuing education credit classes to gain her SHRM-SCP certificate.
